FEATURES OF THE SOFTWARE

What kinds of assessments do you offer?
Agolix’s Assessment Generator features three kinds of assessments, which determine how each assessment is scored:
Provides a score based on a respondent’s answers. That’s like a school test without any right and wrong answers.
For example, an assessment can ask, “How likely would you enjoy a visit to the UK?” and answer out of 100%. You can set the range of scores from 1 to 100 or any other number. And you can provide custom feedback depending on the respondent’s score, such as: “Your score of 89% shows you would likely enjoy visiting the UK very much.”
Assigns a respondent to one of several categories. That’s like the Sorting Hat in Harry Potter that assigns each new student to one of the four houses in the school.
For example, an assessment can ask, “Are you more of a Pub Person or a Museum Person?” The answer to each question scores points for one or another type. You can assign the respondent to any type based on their scores and then give them a description of that type, such as: “You are a Pub Person who enjoys a lively time out with friends.”
Rates a respondent in each of several categories. That’s like a report card that gives you grades or scores in several subjects.
For example, an assessment can ask, “What would you most like to study in college: arts, sciences, or business?” You can give the respondent a score for every type, along with custom feedback: “You scored High on interest in sciences. That means you will likely be very motivated if you major in science. Here are some resources to guide you… You scored Medium on interest in the area of business. That means this may not be the best choice for your major. Here are some resources to help you learn more… And you scored Low in arts. That means this would not be a good choice for your major.”

What question formats do you support?
With Agolix, you can ask questions in all these different formats:
- Generate with AI: Create Options and/or Scale questions using our AI feature.
- Binary: Answer by choosing one item from a set of opposites, such as Yes/No or True/False
- Checkbox: Answer by checking a box or leaving it blank
- Drop-down: Answer by selecting from a drop-down list
- Narrative: Answer by typing free-form text (supports multiple sentences or paragraphs).
- Numeric: Answer with a number
- Options: Answer by choosing one item from a list (also known as Multiple Choice)
- Ranking: Answer by arranging a list of items in order (Type and Multi-type Assessments only)
- Scale: Answer by choosing a number on a scale, such as 1 to 5 or 1 to 10
- Validation: Answer with text to be validated for proper date, email, or URL format
- *With an Advanced or higher account you can use Conditional Logic questions. This question format lets you show or hide certain questions depending on the answer to a previous question. This is also known as “skip logic” or “conditional branching”.
You can give scores to many question formats (binary, checkbox, options, ranking, or scale).
Some other formats (drop-down, narrative, numeric entry, and validated text entry) are not scored. These are better for collecting qualitative and demographic information from your respondents.
You can mix different types of questions in the same assessment.

-
How do I get the email/contact information for my respondents?
You can get the email/contact information for your respondents in several different ways:
- By email: You can get an email every time someone completes your assessment. This email will include the respondent’s name, email address, and scores. You can also include the respondent’s detailed results.
- From your Responses page: Everyone who creates an assessment gets a Responses page that stores all their respondents’ information. On this page, you can see any respondent’s contact information and detailed results.
- Export a CSV file: With any paid plan, you can export your respondents’ contact information and results to a CSV file you can open in a spreadsheet like Excel or Google Sheets.
- Integrate your assessment with your favorite apps: With an Advanced or Private Label plan, you can use the popular Zapier app to link to your favorite app for managing your customer list such as Hubspot or MailChimp, and then collect every respondent’s contact information without any coding.
- Send data directly to a webhook endpoint on your site: With an Advanced or Private Label plan, you can send your results to a specific page on your website using the Webhook integration API, if you do the required coding.

What’s the difference between Score Bands and Score Ranges?
A Score Band is a range of scores used to group similar respondents. For example, many assessments use three Score Bands called Low, Medium, and High. While three is the typical number, you can create more than three Score Bands for an assessment, or fewer. And you can provide different feedback to the respondents within each Score Band.
A Score Range is the range of points covered by any Score Band. For example, in an assessment with 100 points and three Score Bands called Low, Medium, and High, you could set up Score Ranges of Low from 0 to 33, Medium from 34 to 67, and High 67 to 100. Automatic Scoring makes each Score Range the same size. Manual Scoring enables you to set up each Score Band however you wish.
-
What’s the difference between Automatic and Manual Scoring?
Automatic Scoring is the default that gives each Score Band an equal number of points. That means with 100 points and three Score Bands, Automatic Scoring makes each Score Band the same size: Low from 0 to 33, Medium from 34 to 67, and High 68 to 100.
With Manual Scoring, you control the size of each Score Band, so you can make some larger or smaller. For example, with 100 points you could make Low from 0 to 25, Medium from 26 to 74, and High from 75 to 100.
-
Can I integrate my assessment with other apps?
Yes. With an Advanced or Private Label plan, you can do this in two different ways:
- Integrate your assessment with third-party apps through the popular Zapier app, without any coding. Then you can automatically send every respondent’s contact information, scores, and responses to individual questions to the app you use to manage your customer list, such as Hubspot, MailChimp, or many others.
- Send data to a webhook endpoint on your site using the Webhook Integration API, if you do the required coding.
-
Does Agolix support multiple languages?
You can create your assessment in any language you have a keyboard for including French, Mandarin, Spanish, and others. You can generate the questions, set the text on all buttons, write the screen prompts, and provide the results in any of those languages. Now your respondents don’t have to know English to answer your assessment or read their results.
The Agolix software interface for creating assessments is only available in English.
-
Can I protect my assessment so no one else copies it?
Yes. You can encrypt the URL of your assessment, which makes it more difficult to share. Or you can embed the assessment in a page on your site using an iframe, and then place that page behind a paywall or membership portal.
-
Can I charge a fee to take my assessment?
Yes. There are a couple of ways that you can charge a fee to take your assessment:
- Embed your assessment on a page on your site behind a paywall. You can use any website that supports paywalls for this, including WordPress and popular learning management systems such as Kajabi, Teachable, and Thinkific. Click here to Learn more.
- Require a Digital Access Code to complete your assessment. You can either send out codes manually or sell your assessment in your web store and send codes automatically on purchase.
-
Can I customize how my assessment looks?
You can upload your own logo and other images to your assessment and set the colors to match your brand. We also have a variety of layouts that you can use to change the appearance and behavior of your assessment.
With an Advanced or higher account, we can enable custom CSS for your assessment. This will allow you or your web developer to customize many aspects of your assessment. If you don’t have someone with CSS experience, our developers can make the changes for you for a small fee. Contact us for details.
-
I have a specific format I’d like to use for my report. Can you help?
With an Advanced or higher account, we can create a fully custom report for you. With a custom report, you can:
- Add more graphs and charts, including chart types that aren’t available in our standard software
- Create reports with any layout you like: Many of our clients have worked with a graphic artist to create stunning reports
- Modify the scoring of your report to include custom scoring algorithms, or extra levels for Multi-type assessments (Types, Sub-types, Sub-sub-types, and so on)
Custom reports are hand-coded by our in-house development team for a one-time fee that depends on the extent and complexity of the report. Once complete, the report is yours for as long as you maintain your Advanced or higher account with us.
