Detailed FAQs:

FEATURES OF THE SOFTWARE

  • What kinds of assessments do you offer?

Agolix features two scoring models and a 360° feedback format:

Simple assessment: Provides a score based on a respondent's answers. That's like a school test without any right and wrong answers. For example, an assessment can ask, "How likely would you enjoy a visit to the UK?" and answer out of 100%. You can set the range of scores from 1 to 100 or any other number. And you can provide custom feedback depending on the respondent's score, such as: "Your score of 89% shows you would likely enjoy visiting the UK very much."

Multi-Type assessment: Rates a respondent in each of several categories. This flexible model supports two approaches:

    • Dimension-based scoring — rates a respondent in each of several categories, like a report card with scores in multiple subjects. For example, you could assess skills in marketing, finance, and leadership, providing a separate score and feedback for each.
    • Single-type assignment — assigns a respondent to one category based on their answers, like a personality quiz. For example, an assessment can ask, "Are you more of a Pub Person or a Museum Person?" and assign the respondent to the type where they score highest.

360° Assessment: Gathers feedback on an individual from multiple respondents and compiles it into a single branded PDF report. It's a powerful tool for leadership development, team coaching, and performance reviews. 360° assessments are available on Professional plans.our score of 89% shows you would likely enjoy visiting the UK very much.”

  • What question formats do you support?

With Agolix, you can ask questions in all these different formats:

    • Binary: Answer by choosing one of two opposite options such as Yes/No or True/False, or by checking a box
    • Drop-down: Answer by selecting from a drop-down list
    • Text Entry: Answer by typing text, a number, or a value to be validated for proper date, email, or URL format.
    • Multiple Choice: Answer by choosing one item from a list
    • Scale: Answer by choosing a number on a scale, such as 1 to 5 or 1 to 7
    • Ranking: Answer by arranging a list of items in order (Multi-Type Assessments only)
    • Forced Choice: Answer by selecting one side of a 5-point spectrum scale, where each side awards points to a different type (Multi-Type Assessments only).

With an Advanced or higher plan, you can also generate Multiple Choice and Scale questions using our AI feature and use Conditional Logic to show or hide questions based on a respondent's previous answers (also known as "skip logic" or "conditional branching").

Scored formats: Binary, Multiple Choice, Scale, and Ranking questions can all be assigned point values.

Unscored formats: Drop-down and Text Entry questions are not scored. Text Entry questions can be assigned to types for reporting purposes. Both are well-suited for collecting qualitative and demographic information.

You can mix different question formats in the same assessment.

  • Will my assessment work on mobile devices?
Yes. Agolix assessments work on all major mobile devices — and more than half of all assessments are completed on mobile.
  • How do my respondents see their results?

You can deliver results to your respondents in any combination of these ways:

    • Display results on-screen
    • Send results by email
    • Send results as a printable PDF report

You can customize the feedback for each result based on the respondent's score, or simply show a thank-you screen with no results at all.

With an Advanced or higher plan, you can also redirect respondents to a page on your website based on their score.

For more details, see Setting Up How Respondents Receive Their Results.

  • Will my assessment work in different browsers?
Yes. Your assessment will work properly in all major browsers including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Samsung, and others.
  • How do I share my assessment with others?

Every assessment you create gets a unique URL you can link to from your website, share in an email, or post on social media. You can also embed your assessment in an iframe or pop-up window on your website.

For more details, see Sharing Your Assessment.

  • If I change my assessment, will people see the latest version?
Yes. Any time you update your assessment, the changes take effect immediately — anyone who takes your assessment will always see the most current version.
  • How do I get the email/contact information for my respondents?

You can access your respondents' contact information and results in several ways:

    1. By email: Receive an email notification each time someone completes your assessment, including the respondent's name, email address, scores, and optionally their detailed results.
    2. From your Responses page: Every account includes a Responses page where you can view any respondent's contact information and detailed results.
    3. Export a CSV file: With any paid plan, export your respondents' contact information and results to a CSV file you can open in Excel or Google Sheets.
    4. Integrate with your favorite apps: With an Advanced or higher plan, use Zapier to automatically send respondent contact information and results to your CRM or email marketing app — no coding required.
    5. Send data to a webhook endpoint: With an Advanced or higher plan, send results directly to an endpoint on your website using the Webhook Integration API.
  • What’s the difference between Score Bands and Score Ranges?

A Score Band groups respondents into categories based on their score. For example, many assessments use three Score Bands — Low, Medium, and High — though you can create as many or as few as you need. You can provide different feedback to respondents in each Score Band.

A Score Range is the span of points covered by each Score Band. For example, in a 100-point assessment with three Score Bands, you might set Low from 0–33, Medium from 34–66, and High from 67–100. With Automatic Scoring, each Score Range is equal in size. With Manual Scoring, you control the size of each range.

  • What’s the difference between Automatic and Manual Scoring?

With Automatic Scoring, Agolix divides the total points equally across your Score Bands. For example, in a 100-point assessment with three Score Bands, the ranges would be Low from 0–33, Medium from 34–67, and High from 68–100.

With Manual Scoring, you control the size of each Score Band. For example, in a 100-point assessment you could set Low from 0–25, Medium from 26–74, and High from 75–100.

  • Can I integrate my assessment with other apps?

Yes. With an Advanced or higher plan, you can do this in two ways:

    1. Integrate with third-party apps via Zapier — no coding required. Automatically send each respondent's contact information, scores, and question responses to your CRM or email marketing app, such as HubSpot, Mailchimp, or many others.
    2. Send data to a webhook endpoint on your site using the Webhook Integration API — requires coding.
  • Does Agolix support multiple languages?

Yes. You can create your assessment in any language you have a keyboard for — including French, Mandarin, Spanish, and many others. Questions, button text, screen prompts, and results can all be written in your chosen language, so your respondents don't need to know English to complete your assessment or read their results.

Note: The Agolix software interface for creating assessments is only available in English.

  • Can I protect my assessment so no one else copies it?

Yes. There are two ways to protect your assessment:

    1. Use Digital Access Codes to require a unique code to take your assessment. You can send codes manually or automate delivery through your online store — for example, via WordPress & WooCommerce — to sell access to your assessment.
    2. Embed your assessment in an iframe on a page behind a paywall or membership portal.
  • Can I charge a fee to take my assessment?

Yes. There are two ways to charge a fee to take your assessment:

    1. Use Digital Access Codes to control access. You can send codes manually or configure your online store to deliver codes to buyers automatically.
    2. Embed your assessment in an iframe on a page behind a paywall or membership portal.
  • Can I customize how my assessment looks?

Yes. You can upload your own logo and images, set colors to match your brand, and choose from a variety of layouts to change the appearance and behavior of your assessment.

With an Advanced or higher plan, custom CSS is also available — giving you or your web developer even more control over your assessment's appearance. If you don't have CSS experience, our developers can make the changes for you for a small fee. Contact us for details.

  • I have a specific format I’d like to use for my report. Can you help?

Yes. With an Advanced or higher plan, our in-house development team can create a fully custom report for you. Custom reports can include:

    • Additional graphs and charts, including chart types not available in our standard software
    • Any layout you like — many of our clients have worked with a graphic artist to create stunning reports
    • Custom scoring algorithms or extra levels for Multi-Type assessments (Types, Sub-types, Sub-sub-types, and so on)

Custom reports are hand-coded for a one-time fee based on the extent and complexity of the work. Once complete, the report is yours for as long as you maintain your Advanced or higher plan. Contact us for details and a quote.
