What is a Composite Type? #
A Composite Type is a type (category or area) that is used to sum up or average 2 or more of your other Types.
Composite Types allow the user to create a type whose score is derived from the score of other types. Example: If you create an assessment with four types, Athlete, Artist, Scholar and Socialite, then create a composite type , named Composite Type A you can configure Composite Type A to be the Sum or Average of the scores of your types Artist and Scholar.
A composite type is also a great way to create an overall score for your assessment.
Navigate to the Types Tab #
To set up Composite Types for your Assessment (Type or Multi-type format), start by entering the Agolix editor.
First, select the “Edit” link in the menu underneath your Assessment title.
Then click on the “Types” tab at the top of the page.
The “Types” page is where you’ll set up the different types (categories or areas) used to score the questions in your assessment.
It’s also where you provide score interpretations for each of your types.
Click “Add Composite Type“.
Choose Sum or Average for Composite Type #
Click “Edit” under your Composite Type, then choose Sum of scores OR Average of scores. If your assessment is configured to score as a percentage, only Average is available
Next, Click on “Composed of Types” and choose the appropriate Types from the drop-down menu. In this example, the sum of the scores for Artist and Scholar will result in Composite Type A.
You can add a type description and score bands to your composite types in the same way that you would a regular type.
